Offer Illinois auto insurance through our partner portal

Licensed Illinois producers at agencies, currency exchanges, tag & title services, dealerships and tax offices can quote, propose and submit auto policies with Lakeshore Insurances, while we handle carrier binding and policy service.

Who it's for

Built for businesses that already serve Illinois drivers

If your customers ask you about car insurance, the partner program lets your licensed staff help them on the spot, with Illinois rules built into every quote.

Independent agencies

Add an auto-focused market and a streamlined Illinois workflow alongside the lines you already write.

Currency exchanges

Help walk-in customers get insured and leave with proof of coverage once the carrier issues the policy.

Tag & title services

Customers registering a vehicle need Illinois-compliant coverage. Your licensed producers can quote it in the same visit.

Dealerships

Help buyers line up coverage that meets their lender's and Illinois' requirements before they drive off the lot.

Tax offices

Tax preparers with licensed producers on staff can offer a year-round service to the clients they already know.

Multi-location businesses

Give each licensed producer their own sign-in and keep quotes and commissions organized across locations.

Requirements

Who can sell through the portal

Selling, soliciting or negotiating insurance in Illinois requires a license. Every person who uses the partner portal to quote or sell must meet these requirements:

  • An active Illinois property & casualty producer license under 215 ILCS 5/500-15, kept current for as long as you use the portal
  • Errors & omissions (E&O) insurance coverage, with proof provided on request
  • Compliance with Illinois anti-rebating rules (215 ILCS 5/151): no rebates, gifts or inducements that aren't specified in the policy
  • Agreement to our partner terms, including confidentiality of customer data and accurate, complete applications

How it works

From application to first policy

Apply

Send the application below. We'll contact you to verify your Illinois producer license, E&O coverage and business details.

Get set up

Once approved and your partner agreement is signed, each licensed user receives a secure portal sign-in.

Quote and propose

Enter drivers and vehicles, compare Illinois-compliant packages, and print a proposal for your customer.

Collect payment on your POS

Your customer signs the application packet and pays the down payment through your own point-of-sale system.

Request binding

Submit a bind request in the portal. Our agency team places it with the carrier. Coverage starts only when the carrier confirms.

Deliver ID cards and track commission

Print Illinois ID cards once the policy is issued and follow your commissions in the portal.

Payments stay on your system. The partner portal never takes card payments. You collect premium payments on your own point-of-sale system under your partner agreement, and no card numbers are entered into or stored in the portal.

Questions

Partner program FAQ

Do my employees need to be licensed?

Yes. Anyone who quotes, discusses coverage or sells insurance through the portal must hold an active Illinois property & casualty producer license. Unlicensed staff can greet customers and schedule appointments, but may not quote or sell.

Are portal quotes final prices?

No. Portal quotes are indicative estimates based on the information entered. The final premium is set by the insurance company after underwriting, which can include motor vehicle records, claims history and, where a carrier uses it, a credit-based insurance score. Make sure your customers understand this before they pay.

How do customers pay?

You collect payment on your own point-of-sale system, as set out in your partner agreement. The portal does not accept or store card payments.

When is the customer covered?

Only after the carrier binds and confirms the policy. Submitting a bind request does not create coverage by itself. Once the policy is issued, you can print Illinois ID cards from the portal.

How is commission handled?

Commission terms are set out in your partner agreement. You can follow the status of each bound policy and the related commission in the portal.

Can I give customers a discount or gift to win their business?

No. Illinois anti-rebating rules (215 ILCS 5/151) prohibit rebates and inducements not specified in the policy. Partners must follow these rules at all times.

Is customer information secure?

The portal uses individual sign-ins, encrypted connections and audit logging. Driver's license numbers are encrypted at rest. Partners must keep customer information confidential and use it only to serve that customer.

Partner application

Tell us about your business. A member of our team will contact you to discuss next steps. Applying does not create a partnership; approval is subject to license and E&O verification and a signed partner agreement.

Your individual or business entity license number, or your NPN. We verify every license before approval.

For example: the type of business, how many licensed producers you have, and whether you carry E&O coverage today.

What happens after you apply

  • We review your application and contact you to talk through your business.
  • We verify each producer's Illinois license and your E&O coverage.
  • You review and sign the partner agreement.
  • Each licensed user receives a secure portal sign-in and a walkthrough.
