Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the Lakeshore Insurances website and reseller partner portal. Please read them carefully. Effective October 15, 2026.
This website and the reseller partner portal (together, the "Services") are operated by Lakeshore Insurances ("Lakeshore Insurances," "we," "us" or "our"), an insurance agency licensed in Illinois. By using the Services, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Quotes are estimates
Any quote, price or premium shown on the Services or provided by us or a partner is an estimate based on the information provided at the time. The final premium, coverage terms and eligibility are determined by the insurance company after underwriting, which may include motor vehicle records, claims history, and, where an insurer uses it, a credit-based insurance score. Prices and availability can change.
2. No coverage until bound and confirmed
Requesting a quote, submitting a form, sending a message, signing an application or submitting a bind request does not create insurance coverage. Coverage begins only when an insurance company has bound the policy and you have received confirmation from us or the insurer. Do not drive an uninsured vehicle or cancel existing coverage until you have that confirmation. Your policy documents, not this website, set out the actual terms, conditions, limits and exclusions of your coverage.
3. Information you provide must be accurate
You agree to provide true, accurate and complete information, including about every driver in your household, the vehicles to be insured, where they are kept, how they are used, and your driving and claims history. Insurers rely on this information. A material misrepresentation or omission can lead to a change in premium, denial of a claim, or cancellation or rescission of the policy, which can void coverage. Please tell us promptly if any information changes.
4. General information, not legal advice
Content on the Services, including our explanations of Illinois insurance requirements, is general information provided for convenience. It is not legal, tax or financial advice, and it may not reflect every change in the law or your particular situation. For legal questions, please consult an attorney. Coverage recommendations from our licensed staff are based on the information you give us.
5. Reseller partner portal
The partner portal is for authorized users only. By signing in, you agree that:
- Authorized licensed users only. You hold an active Illinois property & casualty producer license, you have been approved by us, and you use only your own sign-in. You will not share your credentials or let anyone else use your account, and you will tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
- Confidentiality of customer data. You will use customer information only to quote, sell and service that customer's insurance, keep it confidential and secure, and not copy, export or disclose it except as needed for that purpose or as the law requires.
- Accurate submissions. You will enter information as provided by the customer, and explain to the customer that quotes are indicative and coverage begins only when the carrier confirms it.
- Compliance. You will follow Illinois insurance law, including the anti-rebating rules in 215 ILCS 5/151, and the terms of your partner agreement. Payments are collected on your own point-of-sale system; the portal does not accept card payments.
- Audit logging. Portal activity, including sign-ins, quotes, document downloads and bind requests, is logged and may be reviewed for security, compliance and quality purposes.
We may suspend or end portal access at any time, including if a license lapses or these terms or your partner agreement are not followed. If your partner agreement conflicts with these terms, the partner agreement controls for portal use.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Services, including by submitting false information or information about another person without their permission, attempting to gain unauthorized access, interfering with security features, sending automated or bulk submissions, or using the Services for any unlawful purpose.
7. Intellectual property
The Services and their content, including text, graphics, logos, page design and software, are owned by or licensed to Lakeshore Insurances and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages for your personal, non-commercial use, or for authorized partner use. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from the Services without our written permission. Insurance company names and marks belong to their respective owners.
8. Links to other websites
The Services may link to websites we do not control, such as government agencies or insurance companies. We are not responsible for their content or practices, and their own terms and privacy policies apply.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lakeshore Insurances and its owners, employees and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Services. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, or changes the terms of any insurance policy issued to you.
10. Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or the Services will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. This does not affect your right to file a complaint with the Illinois Department of Insurance.
